Matthew 25 Congregation

First Presbyterian Church is a PC(USA) Matthew 25 congregation. A Matthew 25 congregation is one that calls us to see our neighbors through Jesus’ eyes (Matthew 25:31-46) and serve those who are marginalized or in need. The three focuses are: building congregational vitality, dismantling structural racism, and eradicating systemic poverty.

LETTER WRITING INITIATIVE

We have been writing and delivering cards to people in prison and we recently received a thank you last week from the Chaplain at the Hiland Mountain Correctional Center: Thank you so much for the beautiful cards and booklets. The notes were very thoughtful. Most of them have gone to our lockdown wings, but the rest are out. They are a beautiful reminder to the women that they are loved and not forgotten.

Please continue writing cards and dropping them off at the church. We will deliver them to prison chaplains.
