Faith Formation

Overview

Education, worship, and service opportunities work together to transform our hearts and minds as our faith grows and expresses itself in our lives. We seek to build community through intergenerational experiences, as well as activities tailored for the specific needs of each age group.

Intergenerational Experiences

Epiphany

Lent

Easter

Advent

We share meals together during these same seasons as well as at Thanksgiving and through summer picnics.

Throughout the year, children can participate in many intergenerational service activities on Sunday mornings:

  • Bag rice for F.I.S.H. (Friends in Serving Humanity) monthly
  • Assemble food boxes packs for The Children’s Lunchbox
  • Write cards to the women at Hiland Correctional Center
  • Help pack or decorate Deacon’s Goodie Bags for our older members
  • Plant, weed, and harvest at the I Street Vegetable Garden

We provide activities that can be continued at home to deepen faith

We recreate together through a variety of activities:

  • Hikes in local parks
  • Game Nights at the church
  • UAA Sports Events
  • Downtown Parades
