A Season of Peace
THE THINGS THAT MAKE FOR PEACE:
WITNESSING TO PEACE THROUGH ART AND ACTION
September 5 – October 3
Welcome to the 2021 Season of Peace. This season is a time of encouragement, challenge, inspiration, and education as we journey together to define and deepen our calling as peacemakers. Use the following resources to help you on your journey:
Path Of Daily Reflections
Featuring video and written reflections from artists and peacemakers, we are invited to reflect upon ways to practice peacemaking and explore how the arts enhance and are expressions of peacemaking.
Click here to subscribe to these daily reflections or pick up a devotional resource on the “Season of Peace” table in the narthex.
Pick up a packet of Peace Cards.Use one card each day to encourage conversation with your family (or friends) and develop practices for making peace.
Family Faith Formation Fellowship
Children, youth and parents are invited to join us each Sunday from 10:30-10:45 virtually for singing, a Bible Story, and catching up with each other. This month our theme is “Come to the Table of Peace.”
Contact Danna Larson for the zoom link.
WE WILL CULMINATE OUR PILGRIMAGE ON OCT 3 WITH TWO EVENTS:
1. The PC(USA) Peace and Global Witness Offering will be taken during worship. This offering goes to advocate for peace and justice in cultures of violence through collaborative projects of education and Christian witness. FPC will use 25 per cent of the offering to support refugees from Afghanistan who are relocating to Anchorage.
2. Intergenerational Fall Peace Festival: Join us at 2 pm on the church lawn for an afternoon of fun and meaningful activities for all ages. Bring your neighbors and extended family members.
