The First Presbyterian Church Earth Care Ministry Team is tending a garden plot for the 3rd Avenue Downtown Urban Farm project this summer. During VBS the 3rd and 4th graders planted potatoes. If you are interested in helping to water and hill the potatoes this summer, please contact Danna Larson or Jennifer Searls.
Join us to run/walk the Running Free 4 Miler on Thursday, June 27 at 7pm. This race supports female prison inmates at the Hiland Mountain Correctional Center in Eagle River. It raises money to buy running shoes and sports bras for the women who are bettering their lives by being part of a running program sponsored by Running Free Alaska.
Sign up to run or walk at Running Free Alaska. You can also donate to help support the FPC runners by writing a check to First Presbyterian Church and putting RunningFree Race on the memo line. Contact Sarah Kleedehn or Kay Brown with questions.
The June Food Box Build for the Elderly at the Food Bank (2121 Spar Ave) is Saturday, June 15. Anyone ten years of age or older is welcome to join us at the Food Bank of Alaska as we work with 30 other volunteers packing 800 boxes of food that is sent to the villages. We begin at 9 am and finish at noon. Sign up in the narthex if you plan on coming. First Presbyterian Church commits to ten volunteers each month for this service ministry.
